Hi all,
my name is Juergen and I'm from Hamburg, Germany.
Indeed, not really from Hamburg, but from a smaller city nearby in the exurbs of Hamburg.

I have a collection of 51 named Sempervivum cultivars at the moment.
They seem to be nice plants all year round with low cultivation demands.

As I'm always curious what I'm able to grow from seeds, one of my first things was to purchase also some seeds at eBay and now I'm watching what is germinating and growing from the seeds I have sown.

Happy growing to all of you!

Juergen

Juergen, welcome!

Strange enough, this spring I also bought some seeds of Slovene S. tectorum localities nad I just can not make myself sew ... New from Hamburg, Germany 771284 Well, it's not that hard, years ago I tried and the little semps grow like mad, but they all died during first winter. I guess you have to keep young semps away from rain and snow the very fiirst winter.

Thank you for good advice about overwintering seedlings carefully during their first winter!

I think that from my seeds already more than 100 seedlings have germinated until now - still counting.

Semps are really easy to germinate, compared to some other plants from alpine locations.
