Greetings from Hocheim am Main (Germany)
Hello,
this is my second attempt to join this forum, since I wasn't able to post a topic before due to lack of time and my account was deactivated My name is Tobi and I live in Hochheim in Germany, which might be known for its rhine wine being traded to countries all over the world for centuries. As you can imagine, the climate is actually quite good for growing sempervivums, but we had a very rainy summer this year, bringing perfect conditions for a lot of parasites, so I lost some plants :( There are some good professional breeders here in Germany, but unfortunately none even close to me or at leas in my state...so every named cultivar hybrid and natural species I have, I had to "import" via parcel service, but maybe that's also a common way to you. I got 50 of those named plants right now (I've been collecting this way since spring this year) and altogether an amount of 200 plants. Another passion of mine are the "Orostachys", which I got a little variety of. Unlike a lot of sempervivum fanatics I got to know, I am short of space for planting and breeding - I got my little rock garden (3x3m) in front of the house and some flower boxes for breeding on the backside in the small garden. I am also an active member in a german sempervivum forum and I think I already read some familiar names here
I think that might be enough for an introduction, at least I don't know what else interesting/important to say right now.
Btw. I followed the "Orostachys" threads, which are quite informative, that's what brought me here
Greetings
Tobi/Jalapeno
