S. riccii is native to Monte Cambio, Italy.

Monte Cambio or Monte di Cambio is 2.081 m high and it is one of the main peaks of the mountains in the province of Rieti in Lazio, central Italy.

Monte Cambio is located within Bosco Vallonina, special area of conswervation, a part of Natura 2000.

Monte is Italian word for mountain.
