There is a locality of S. tectorum at 1.700 m above sea level: http://www.bionet-skola.com/w/Slika:Cuvarkuce-na-1700m.jpg This must be in Serbian part of Stara planina, but the exact location is not given.
Stara planina represents the extreme western branches of the Balkan mountain system which is located in the eastern part of Bulgaria. It extends from Zaječar (Serbia) , in the north to Dimitrovgrad (Bulgaria) in the south, at altitudes from 300 m to 2168 m. It covers an area of 114,332 ha. The highest peak of Stara Planina is Midžor.
