Othello
Mid May 2008
Breeder: C.V. Sponnier, late in 1950's (this is very old cultivar!!!) - plant was selecetd out of 250 seedlings
Other names - wrong ones! - for this plant are:
Species Sponnier
Species sponier
Sponier
and most probably also Lowes 60
Parent plant: Sempervivum marmoreum cv. Rubricundum and Sempervivum tectorum cv. Atropurpureum
It is an XL Sempervivum - it will grow up to 16 cm in diamether.
Begining of June, 2008
Some say Sempervivum cv. Othello and Sempervivum cv. Sponier might be the same plant.

Re: Othello
I got it in the main local plantshop last fall, but the plants were grown in greenhouse conditions and already looked poor in the shop. I tried anyway, but have now only a tiny plantlet and a trunk with some tiny leaves left. I guess that it will soon go from my "have-list" to my "wish-list" .... I believe that it is not so rare in cultivation so I'll sooner or later get it again ...
