S. andreanum was fisrt described by Wale in 1941.

Plant was collected in 1935 by Mrs. Andrea Giuseppi in the Sierra Cani, north Spain.

DESCRIPTION: A distinct species with rosettes 1,5 to 4 cm in diameter, the outer leaves forming a tight, conical bud similar to that of S. wulfenii (Hoppe). The stolons carrying the new rosettes are short and consequently tend to form close clumps of rosettes. The flowers have pale pink petals deepening to a light red at the base; yellow anthers.

Easy to cultivate - it makes lots of chicks.

Beside partly information
"Sempervivum tectorum subsp. boutignyanum (Billot & Gren.)"
I can not find anything else on the linked page. No year of classificatrions in which G. Dumont pages are - howevere imformative they are - very very scarce!

You're right, Sempervophilia is not a scientific publication but I think that Gérard Dumont is THE semp's specialist and I trusted him

Hum... but it is maybe because G. Dumont is not a splitter ...

I have not the name of botanist and year, but the correct name is Sempervivum tectorum subsp. boutignyanum f. andreanum and the correct name localitation is Sierra del Cadí (and not Sierra del Ca).

I forgot small discussion.
Think about that:

1. There are many synonyms for Sempervivum tectorum
2. Sempervivum tectorum grows on huge area
3. Many peoply use only one name for plants from the Alps, athough there are many forms and types

My solution?

Sempervivum tectorum subsp. boutignyanum = Sempervivum tectorum subsp. tectorum
- there are not so different from the group of Sempervivum tectorum subsp. tectorum from the Alps
- we must look at the variability of the group from Alps -> we should say the plants from North a Middle Pyrenées belongs to complex of Sempervivum tectorum subsp. tectorum

Sempervivum andreanum = Sempervivum tectorum subsp. andreanum
- there are bigger differences than by S. t. subsp. boutignyanum
- plants are more succulent and there are less leaves in the rosette
- but differences are not so big to be S. andreanum as seperate species

Another name for S. tectorum subsp. tectorum (in my opinion and after I have seen the pictures).

Thank you! I am happy if I can chat with somebody about it.

S. andreanum - I have seen only the plants from 1900 to 2300 metres above sea level. The original plants should grow somewhere in the valley. But there is not mentioned in which valley should the original plants grow. I think, they can grow in the valley south of Pedraforca massif. Only there is the altitude around 900 metres.
