Haute Loire is a habitat of S. montanum.

Can someone that speaks French explain the name, please.

Haute Loire = "High Loire". Loire is a big (and beautiful) river.
Haute-Loire is a French department in the Auvergne region
In this area live S. arvernense, S. arachnoideum tomentosum and S. x pomelii
