Monte Padon

Monte Padon in Italy is a habitat of S. montanum ssp. montanum that grows there at 2.350 m about sea level.
Since monte is an Italian word meaning mountain, I beleive the correct name would be only Padon, leaving Monte out. Any Italian here to help us sort out this problem?
