Jovibarba allionii (now Sempervivum globiferum ssp. allionii) is native to south - west Alps from France to south Tyrol, Austria.

It makes great mats and the rosettes are somehow yellowish in summer. The size of rosette does not exceed a diamether of 2,5 cm (one inch!) and the rosette is always giving a spherical apperance. Leaves have fine hairs. Flowers is yellowish.

Can you cite the approximate date of the change from J. to S.? All these years I thought I finally had the nomenclature on this one correct - now, apparently, not. Thanks

S. globiferum subsp. allionii (Jordan & Fourreau) 't Hart & Bleij (Succulenta 78(1):40, 1999)

It worked! Centre is J allioni, (Gorges Superieures de Cians FR) from Olivier.. photo from about a week ago.. Definitely this is my most beautiful jovi!
