Description as given in The Sempervivum Society Journal Volume 7 (1976), No. 2:

"Large, open and lax rosettes with succulent leaves based blue green and mottled greyed purple becoming solid purple on the extended point. During the winter the colour fades and the plant looses its distinctiveness of summer."
