This is how David T. Ford described S. 'MOUNT USHER' in The Sempervivum Society Journal Volume 4 (1973), No. 4:

"A large tectorum type, this in my opinion is the best of the large purple forms, a slight violet tinge makes it attractive. Keeps its colour well at all times."
