Patens Rb9-patens
May 2011

I got this plant simply labeled as Patens. But what the heck is this?! There's no cultivar with this name.

Patens Xl6-help What about species' name? Name "patens" is to be found in systematics as S. patens Griseb. & Schenk
Combinations for this basionym:

Jovibarba heuffelii var. patens (Griseb. & Schenk) P.J. Mitch.

Sempervivum heuffelii var. patens (Griseb. & Schenk) Huber in Jacobsen & Rowley

Sempervivum hirtum subsp. patens (Griseb. & Schenk) Stoj. & Stef. (1924)

"Patens" as one of the
synonymes for J. heuffelii:

S. heuffelii var. glabrum
Beck & Szyszylowicz (1888)
J. heuffelii var. glabra
(Beck & Szyszylowicz) hort. (s.a.) nom inval., Art. 29.1)
S. glabrum
(Beck & Szyszylowicz) A. Berger (1930)
S. patens var. glabrum
(Beck & Szyszylowicz) Rohlena (1942)
J. heuffelii ssp. glabra
(Beck & Szyszylowicz) Holub (1967)

The plant on the photo is but NOT J. heuffelii. It is a Sempervivum and I wish someone can explain the name.
