One of the characteristcs of S. wulfenii is this "tight closed" center of the rosette. If you look at other photos Marko.D made in Zurich Botanical garden you'll see other species have opened rosettes at the same time, so this is NOT a result of growing conditions!

I took some fresh photos today. Plant is in my collection and it's labeled as

S.wulfenii from Kronplatz 2250m , Bozen / Bolzano, Italy,
it's collected by Cees van den Wittenboer NL (CW 13)
