S. wulfenii is growing in Col de la Bernina, Val da Fain, Grisons, Switzerland.

Col de Bernina is 2.328 m above sea level. It is a high mountain pass in the Bernina Range of the Alps, in the canton of Graubünden (Grisons) in eastern Switzerland.
