Simplon is in Canton Wallis in Switzerland.
Simplon is a habitat for Sempervivum x. comollii (Rota), a natural hybrid between Sempervivum tectorum and Sempervivum wulfenii.

If you understand Semp. comollii (Praeger writes it with double L) as a cross between tectorum and wulfenii, it cannot grow on the Simplon Pass, because this locality is much too far west for Semp. wulfenii. The most western habitats for Semp. wulfenii are to be found in the Bernina Valley in the canton of Grisons / Graubünden.
