Virgental in Osstirol (East Tyrol) in Austria is a habitat of S. wulfenii.
The plant grows there on silicat at 1.500 m above sea level.
(das) Tal is a German word for valley.
Virgental is close to Defereggental, in national park Hohe Tauren.

Also J. areniara and S. arachnoideum grow there.
