Orostachys sikokiana = Meterostachys sikokianus
I saw this species in a book Sedum- cultivated stonecrops by Ray Stephenson. I didn't find much information
on internet.
Synonyms:
Orostachys sikokiana
Cotyledon sikokiana
Sedum sikokianum
Sedum leveilleanum
It looks similar to Orostachys chanetii that is also very rare and very beautiful. It's annual plant.
Here is a picture from a book:
And a link to only picture I've found on internet:
http://bio-image.net/main.php?smenu=category&ca=5&taxa_ca_id=7-2304
Does anyone has more information about this species?
on internet.

I had more luck with googling Korean word for this plant. A lot of habitat photos. I don't know are they in culture at all.
Word is: 난쟁이바위솔

Marko, it's the very first time I hear about this plant.
The name METEROSTACHYS reminds me a lot of meterological stuff or meteor catastrophy! Hm, how inventive some people are, making up plant names!
The plant itself buit reminds me a lot of Sinocassula yunnanensis, I plant I used to have and that is supposed to be frost hardy. It did not survived winter outside.
Unfortunately I do not have any information to help you with. But knowing you I know you are stubborn and won't give up till you find some.

i think this may have answered a puzzle of mine--i found a photo of a plant in flower on an asian site several years ago, and had no idea what it was--it looks like something similar to these...

There is a great article about phylogeny of Orostachys beased on DNA research:
http://gardens.narod.ru/goncharova1.pdf
You can see on page 4 that plants that we know today as genus
Orostachys aren't monophyletic.
Plants i like to call ''soft'' Orostachys are geneticly different than ''hard'' species.

Genera Orostachys and Sinnocrassula are closely related. Genetic research will show how many Orostachys should be in Sinocrassula and the other way around.
