Personal Sempervivum encyclopedia

I wonder is anyone of you making you personal encyclopedia on Sempervivum & Jovibarbas from informations and photos, awailable form internet?


I am, and sofar I've managad to gather more than 1,500 pages of datas on semps!

Hi Renata. I have a small database that we started in Feb 2010. We are adding photos of each cultivar from different times of the year, parts of the country it is growing in, and different soil types. So far it has been very interesting to see the changes a single plant goes through in a years time.
I find valuable information here on your site, I really love coming here.

this encyclopedia is free accessible without any registration;

I'm a big fan of genus Orostachys so I was into their classification
that can be confusing. I wanted to solve this mess for myself
and I've posted results on this forum:

I think I will do the same thing for genera Rosularia and Prometheum.

Now...great lists of synonyms are made for Sempervivums and lists can be found also on this forum. Hope I could memorize them

Mark can't wait to see what you do with the Rosularia. I am unfamiliar with Prometheum. Will have to look that one up. : )

They used to be in one genus until recently. Some members
(of both) were in genus Sedum. It's a mess but I'm sure we'll catch up

I will need your help to come anywhere near catching up.

Sedum is..not so small genus . good luck!
If you become an expert, you can do the Sedum part

I am sure going to give it a try. So many have been renamed. I will definitely share what I learn with you.
