You're welcome all the time.
I suggest that you come in summer because Velički grad is just above swimming pools with natural thermal water

During my holidays in Croatia last year Jutarnji list added a special brochure on Croatian national parks and natrural parks ... Wow! I didn't even know there were so many of them! I realoly should be going to see some more of Croatia to Poreč and Zagreb!

I didn't get over to this post until now--great! Love to see the plants in habitat So this place is close to you, Marko? The Jovis look great, bet there are some other nice plants there too?
What we called Sempervivum soboliferum was one of the first plants I grew outdoors, long long ago..lol None of those gardens survived when I left home, though..
I have the same or similar Sedum, too!
Is that a natural cliff to the right in the last photo, or a wall?

Yes cohan, this habitat is close to where I live. There are also at least 3 species of Sedum growing there. I think Sedum from the picture is S.album. Habitat is inside of Nature Park Papuk. Colony looks big and healthy but It doesn't mean It's safe from exterminating. I took only few plants from habitat and I grow and exchange only offsets from my plants. Plant grows very well in culture. In the following years I'm sure there will be offset for everyone so no need for taking more plants from nature.
In the last picture is the wall of an old castle remains called Velički grad. I had a theory that this plant could be brought here by humans during the long history of this place. This place is very popular and close to village so that makes exterminating pressure on the plants even higher.
There was another colony of some Sempervivum or Jovibarba growing around another castle remains called Ružica grad. It's located on another side of Papuk Mountain above town Orahovica. This colony is exterminated but some people told me that they have plants that were collected there. I will write more after I receive the plants.

Its good to get a few plants into cultivation to preserve the colony
Seeds would be fun to try also!
The sedum I have that looks like this had white flowers, so I thought also could be album, I got it in a mixed pot of sedums from a mainstream garden centre (where names-esp scientific ones! count for nothing..lol)

I never saw flowers in habitat, but plants in culture produced flowers.
S. album is very common species.

Lovely photos - I have never seen a Semp or Jovi in habitat. I will have to try to make some journeys before I get too old.
