S. x funckii - name in general
Oh, how many S. funckii, S. funkii and stuff like that I've seen! Not to mention Funckii (as in cultivar name!)!
This plant is quite often in collections and with the number of plants number of wrongly written names grows, too.
Is this name really so hard to write down?!
S. x funcki was described by F. Braun ex Wilheml Daniel Joseph Koch in 1832.
S. x funckii is a natural hybrid of three species: S. arachnoideum with montanum and S. tectorum.
It is native to Ardeness.
This plant has a variety (which is not common with natural hybrids!):
S. funckii var. aqualiense classified by E. Morren
And for the end of this post - a "candy" - link to an very very odl painting of S. funckii x aqualiense (please not the name is unvalid!):

Have you ever visited habitats? And the most imoportant question: why are there no S. arachnoideum, S. tectorum and S. montanum there?

No, because the station is closed to public. Only scientific people visit the station.Have you ever visited habitats?
The road is dangerous (because of falling rocks).
S. x funckii is the rarest plant in Belgium but highly threatened.
The road must be rebuilt and rocks must be destroyed (and plants too) !!!
That is THE question !!!And the most imoportant question: why are there no S. arachnoideum, S. tectorum and S. montanum there?
Nobody knows !
Two opinions exists:
- S. x funckii is a introduced plant ?
- Parents have disappeared ?

I've watched the video you linked from your site - oh, wat a place! Rocks are really special. I highly recomend to watch the video to anyone interested in S. x funckii.
I've read what G. Dumont had to say about the habitat of S. x funckii - I found it by surprise that he does not support ANY theory on this exceptional habitat with no other Sempervivums there.
