Mountain Majlovica in Rila mountain range in Bulgaria is a habitat of S. erythraeum.

Gerard Dumont said plants in cultivationa re from north of monastery. The Rila monastery is located on southern foot of this mountain.
Rila mountain range is located south of Sofia and close to border with Macedonia and Greece.
