S. marmoreum var. dinaricum
S. marmoreum var. dinaricum was classified by Soó in 1966, but was later transfered to S. marmoreum var. marmoreum.

Habitats of S. marmoreum var. dinaricum:
Dinaric Alps are the fifth most rugged mountain chain in Europe (the ther four are Caucasus Mountains, Alps, Pyrenees and Scandinavian Mountains).
This is a 645 km long mountain chain that extends from south Slovenia, Over Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Serbia, Albania and Montnegro. Dinaric Alps extend along the coast of Adriatic Sea.

are there known localities in Slovenia? It is not listed in the flora ... On basis of the districution it could be ... I ask this because I like to see and photograph the Slovene species in nature. I am not planning to take any from nature (they are protected species and similar plants are already in cultivation - although I would be very interested to cooperate with making/maintaining an official/legal backup-collection of plants from small populations). You have my e-mail if you don't want to reply to the forum with notes on exact locations.

As far as I know the report of S. marmoreum var. dinaricum being native to Slovenia is incorrect.
