Muránskej planine

Muránskej planine in central Slovakia is a habitat of S. marmoreum.

Muráňská planina - there are habitats of Semeprvivum marmoreum subsp. matricum and Jovibarba globifera subsp. hirta var. hirta - it both grows at Šarkanica - rocks above Martinová dolina. Jovibarba globifera subsp. hirta var. hirta grows also at Voniaca, two kilometres from Šarkanica.

Once again it prooved for good to have members from countries Sempervivums are natural to. This way I hope we will can answer meany questions there still are in "sempervivology".

Muráňská planina is very interestring place - the hills are not so high, but there are many rocks, valleys, there are also many caves. The hills have very steep slopes.
It does not know long time about Sempervivum marmoreum subsp. matricum there. Sempervivum marmoreum subsp. matricum found D. R. Letz in year 2005 (something more about him HERE).
I was near these habitats before two years, but I do not know about this (I was interestred shorly in houseleeks), but I want go there again and find it.

Find it and find the road to Tisovec - click to the sign HYBRIDNÍ in the right corner. Find the number of the road 531 near Tisovec. There in the north begins the valley. Find the rocks and click the sign + in the left corner (this map has very good resolution) - this is Šarkanica. And there in neighbourhood is Muráňská planina.
