the link below is to a thread on the Scottish Rock Garden Forum, by an acquaintance in Bulgaria; they took a drive, near Sliven, in the Big River Gorge, looking for Crocus, etc, but also saw some Semps, they think could be marmoreum..
they are interested to hear if others think that is the right species...
i hope you can view the page, i think non-members can view that section of the forum..

Look here: tectorum don't live in Bulgaria => it's marmoreum
