Does the friend have photos with more details? It is not possible to recognize the species from these photos. The photos of one rosette with their leaves can say more...
Because Jovibarba globifera subsp. globifera (= sobolifera) and Jovibarba hirta are very similar. The leaves say, what plant is it.

So difficult to tell from photos and the growing medium can influence the way the plant can look. This one definately looks like a type of J. hirta to me though.

All photos belongs to the first plant (the first bench). It is Jovibarba hirta var. hirta.
But I do not think, that the others are also Jovibarba hirta. But I can not say it surely. It is also necessary to see the details of the rosettes.

Thanks, jezour-- all the photos are the same species (I guess she means from the same original plant) but she has it growing in two places-regular rock garden and in tufa bed (limestone) so no doubt the growing conditions made some difference; she mentioned the plants in tufa are slightly larger....
