Being a natural hybrid between S. tectorum and S. wulfenii, S. commolii appaers everywhere where those two plants grow together. Most well known habitats of S. comollii are:

- Epinel Aosta, Italy,
- Catogne Valais = Wallis,Switzerland,
- Grauson,
- Kasbek,
- Sipmlon,
- Stelvio.

Sorry, only "Stelvio" is an habitat of S. wulfenii and in this place it is possible to find S. x comollii. The other places are not habitat of S. wulfenii. Epinel, Valais, Grauson, Simplon, Rhemes Notre Dames offer hospitality to S. grandiflorum.
