Re: Abruzzi
I've found a Sempervivum listed like this:
S. clusianum from Abruzzi
S. clusianum is not a valid name. This is now S. tectorum var. tectorum.
Abruzzi is called an area in central Italy extending east of the Apennines from the high peak of the Gran Sasso in the north to the Apulian plain in the south. There is also a long coastal strip where the mountains drop down to the sea.

Abruzzi is a area where live S. tectorum italicum
The name "Abruzzi" is very imprecise because it 's a big territory, not a locality name.
I have this plant, a beautiful tectorum with brown leaves

Re: Abruzzi
Late David T. Ford said S. arachnoideum ex Abruzzi is one of the plants with finest red colour. Plant forms a tight clump and do not lose the webbing during season.
That's why this geographic clone is worth having, right?

Re: Abruzzi
This is how David T. Ford described S. arachnoideum from Abruzzi in The Sempervivum Society Journal Volume 4 (1973), No. 4:
" I think that this is the best of the arachnoideums; it soon forms a tight clump of hard white balls well cobwebbed and does not loose its web so much as other forms in the winter."
