Prespa is a name fresh water lake shared between three countries:
- Greece
- Macedonia (Former Yugoslav republic)
- and Albania.

There is also a smaller lake named Small Prespa Lake, shared only between Greece and Albania.

Prespa National Park in Greece is located in the northwest corner of Greece - and this park is a habitat of S. zeleborii (=S. ruthenicum).

Since May 2000 there is also an Albanian Lake Prespa National Park which is situated where Albania, Macedonia and Greece meet and which covers anarea of 27,750 hectares.

S. ciliosum is reported to be native to Albinia Lake Prespa National Park.
