Also S. montanum is supposed to be growing there.

"Val di" is Italian for "valley", so the name means "valley Scalve". Scalve Valley is the furthest from town Bergamo and it has always been a picturesque and isolated place. The valley is located in in the Province of Bergamo in the Italian region of Lombardy, located about 100 km northeast of Milan.
