Valle di Champorcher is a habitat of S. montanum ssp. montanum, that grows there at 2.600 m above sea level.

S. montanum ssp. montanum is also know by it's former name S. frigidum.

Valle di Champorcher is name of lateral part of Aosta Valley in Italy.

The plant you have is certainly not the one I linked to. There is a 700 m of elevation distance between those two habitats.

Petit Mont Blanc is a minor peak in Aosta valley.

On my opinion your plant was collected lower in the Aosta valley at the slopes / bottom of Petit Mont Blanc.

But it will take an Italian to sort this out!

Ento, we need your help!!! Valle di Champorcher 750837

Any idea what CW stands for? Carlo DeWilde?

I-AO must be for Italy - Aosta!

I feel silly, but I must admit I have never heard of Ceas Van den Wittenboer! Is he a botanist or collector?

Hopefuly Ento will sort out this habitat's problem.
