Biokovo

Biokovo is a mounatin range in Dalmatia, Croatia. S. marmoreum is native to this mountain range.

Two known habitats are:
Sveti Jure
Turija

Biokovo is part of so called Dinaric Alps, it towers over Dalmatian town Makarska (Makarska is a coastal town on Adriatic Sea). It's highest peak is Sveti Jure (or Sv. Jure) - 1.762 m.

Plant is photographed below peak Sv.Jure on 1585 m.

Thank Lana in our name - photo is FANTASTIC!!! This gives us some idea about scarce conditions plants grow in there.
